Chickpea Black Kabouli - Seed Packet
2-3' tall bushy plants, with small round pods each containing 1 or 2 black seeds. Mainly grown as a dry pulse, but the plump green seeds are delicious eaten fresh in the garden.
Direct sow in early spring, around the you would regular peas. Chickpeas are surprisingly cold hardy, young plants are fine in light frost. They prefer well drained soil, and aren't fazed by drought. Pull and hang whole plants when the majority of pods are mature, followed by threshing when they're fully dry.
Grown and packaged by Annapolis Seeds.
