It absorbs water, similar to a sponge and slowly releases moisture as the surrounding soil dries out. Mix into soil when planting and water immediately after until saturation is reached.  Ideal for all plantings, indoor and outdoor: containers, baskets, trees, shrubs, vegetables, flower beds, greenhouses, and turf.
