This very popular summer squash is easy to grow, producing lots of delicately flavoured, fine textured fruit. The compact bush-type plants grow yields of creamy white 20-30cm (8-12") oblong fruits that are faintly ribbed with a pale white flesh. Use raw in salads or with dips, also great steamed, fried or baked. Direct seed around the last frost free date into rich fertile soil. Usually sown in groups (hills) of 4-6 seeds and thinned to the 2 strongest plants per group.
